Historically speaking, Chart of The Day chose a potential setup at the start of each trading day that could lead to profits. Note, this is an archive as of 8/4/2007 and you can get current material at www.tatoday.com

TLT - Take profits; look to reload

Symbol: TLT
[X] Exit / Re-entry
Duration: 6 Months
Direction: Take profits then Go Short again

TLT is the proxy for long term bonds/interest rates. It had formed a long term head and shoulders pattern, broke the neckline, built out a bearish wedge and then broke lower which triggered all the problems last week in stock market. Given the way it plunged and volume expanded, it would make sense to take most profits here and rebuild into the bounce from $85 to $88.
